If you got into Seton Hall University (Greensburg, Pennsylvania) and are trying to make a decision on which college to choose, this fact may push you over the edge. According to the next web, Seton Hall recently announced that they will be giving all full-time students a FREE iPad. Students will have the ability to use the “iBook store”, to download all their textbooks to their iPad. Supposedly, students can also use their iPad for other purposes such as: file/air sharing and note-taking.
However, according to iPad application developer, some universities have decided to completely ban the iPad! Both George Washington (GWU) and Princeton University have decided to not allow the iPad on its campus. iPads have been banned from these Universities due to the “bandwidth overload”. Students using their laptop computers to connect to the Internet are subsequently kicked off the Wi-Fi network. Princeton has been successful in blocking around 50% of iPads from accessing the internet and GWU does not support apple products on their campus.
With the ban of iPads in Israel, the issue is getting worse and worse everyday. Hopefully, Apple can come up with a resolution in the near future, so everyone can enjoy the iPad.
